Every show, meeting and scholarship this club runs happens because volunteers turn up. You do not need any poultry experience — just a willingness to help young exhibitors get the most out of their projects.
Our exhibitors are juniors, and the club is run entirely by the families and community members who give their time. A few hours across a season is genuinely enough to make a difference — most of our volunteers help with one or two shows a year.
It is also the fastest way to learn the fancy. Volunteering puts you alongside experienced exhibitors, breeders and judges for a whole day, which is worth more than any amount of reading.
These are the areas we most often need a hand with. If none of them quite fit, tell us what you are good at and we will find something.
Help with exhibitor check-in, coop assignments, ring stewarding and pack-down on show days.
Pair with a newer exhibitor to answer questions about bird selection, conditioning and showmanship.
Approach local businesses, help run raffles and support the club’s seasonal fundraising drives.
Set up and pack down coops, tables and signage, and help keep the club trailer and gear in good order.
Support membership processing, show entries and record keeping behind the scenes.
Take show-day photographs, contribute to the newsletter, or help keep the website up to date.
Because we work with young people, there is a small amount of paperwork before you start. All of the forms live in the resource library.
Tell us roughly how much time you have and what you enjoy doing, and we will match you to something useful. There is no minimum commitment.
